Topaz House

Topaz House provides personal care and accommodation for up to four people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. At the time of inspection, one person was using the service. The home aims to promote choice, independence and inclusion, enabling people to live as ordinary a life as any citizen and develop new skills. The environment was warm, welcoming and clean. Appropriate safety checks on the service and equipment were completed. However, maintenance issues were not always reported promptly to ensure they were addressed, though this was rectified during the inspection. Systems of governance and oversight were not sufficiently robust to identify maintenance concerns, and the inspector recommended strengthening these processes.
