Thorpedale

Thorpedale is a residential care home providing personal care to six people, with capacity for up to seven. The service supports people with a learning disability and autistic people. Staff manage medicines in ways that promote independence and good health outcomes, and generally support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives using the least restrictive approaches. However, care plans and risk assessments do not always focus on people's aspirations or highlight key risks adequately. Further documentation is needed around day-to-day decisions where people lack capacity. The environment requires improvement to ensure it is clean, well-maintained, and meets people's sensory and physical needs.

Staff support people to maintain their own health and wellbeing and help them access specialist healthcare. There is sufficient skilled staffing to meet people's needs and keep them safe. People have expressed a desire for greater access to social activities beyond what is currently provided.
