Thornton House Residential Home

Thornton House Residential Home provides personal care to older people in one adapted building with a capacity of 22 residents. At the time of inspection, 22 people were living there, 14 of whom had age-related conditions including dementia.

The home's governance and quality assurance systems were ineffective, with inaccurate and incomplete records. Poor practice continued unchecked as the provider failed to properly identify and mitigate risks to residents' health and welfare. The provider had not acted on previous actions and recommendations issued by professional bodies.
