The West Gate

The Westgate is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 47 people, with capacity for up to 50. People and their loved ones reported feeling safe and at peace with the care provided. During the inspection, some minor shortfalls were identified, including incomplete information in risk assessments and one missing tablet in a person's medicines, though these had no impact on people's safety. The management team had already recognised these areas for improvement and had put action plans in place with additional staff training arranged. A recruitment file for a recently hired staff member was found to be missing some information, which was resolved during the inspection.
