The Spinney Nursing Home

The Spinney Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 35 people, including older adults, those living with dementia, younger adults, and people with physical disabilities. The home operates across three floors with communal areas, a garden, and parking. At inspection, 32 people were using the service.

Staff demonstrated good knowledge of people's needs and kept them safe through secure recruitment processes and adequate staffing levels. People felt safe and staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities. The home was run by a strong leadership team that assessed and managed risks effectively. A relative commented, "Everywhere is clean and tidy, the food is fine, and they offer alternatives if the menu options aren't suitable." Staff enjoyed their work and spoke highly of management.

The service supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff adopting least restrictive practices in people's best interests. Inspectors made recommendations about medicine administration and infection prevention control procedures.
