The Spinal Unit Action Group

The Spinal Unit Action Group, also known as 6 Weld Road, is a Southport care home providing accommodation for up to 12 people with physical disabilities. At the time of assessment 11 people were living there. The CQC rated the service as requiring improvement overall, following concerns raised about people's safety.

Inspectors found a breach relating to governance, with insufficient checks and audits, inconsistent safety checks of equipment and the environment, and no clear improvement plan. However, people living there spoke positively, describing feeling safe, well cared for and confident to raise concerns, with clean surroundings and reliable medicine support.
