The Rowans

The Rowans is a residential care home for up to five adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, with or without associated learning disabilities or other needs. At the time of inspection, three people were living at the service with diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorders, learning disabilities and Down's Syndrome. Safeguarding procedures were in place and staff demonstrated knowledge of how to report abuse. People's finances were protected through daily checks, and risk assessments were appropriately managed. The service was undergoing transition due to a change in provider, with all required information available to inspectors.

The home demonstrated a commitment to learning from incidents, implementing improvements to reduce future risks and prevent reoccurrence. Staff responded effectively to identified areas for improvement during this period of organisational change.
