The Rowans Care Home

The Rowans Care Home is a residential care home accommodating up to 54 people requiring support with personal care, many living with dementia. The service is spread across 2 floors with communal areas and an enclosed rear garden. At inspection, 45 people were using the service. Care and risk management plans were not always sufficiently detailed or reflective of current needs, with the registered manager actively reviewing and updating records. Staff did not consistently follow hygiene and cleaning standards, though improvements had been made. Some areas of the premises were dated and required refurbishment, though a significant refurbishment plan was underway. The service supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff implementing practices that were least restrictive and in people's best interests.
