The Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage accommodates up to 37 people aged 65 and over in a family-run residential setting approximately 2 miles from Bolton town centre. At inspection, 34 residents were living there. Residents felt safe and spoke positively about their care, describing staff as well-trained and knowledgeable about their individual needs and preferences. Staff understood how to identify and report safeguarding concerns, though these were rarely needed. Stable staffing levels, with many team members having worked at the home for years, ensured continuity of care and met residents' safety needs.

The home maintained high standards of cleanliness with effective infection control processes in place. All accidents, incidents and falls were documented with appropriate follow-up actions recorded. Staff supported residents to make choices about their lives, using the least restrictive approaches and acting in their best interests, with policies and systems in place to support this practice. Both residents and staff spoke positively about the home and how it was managed.
