New Lane

New Lane is a short-term care home supporting up to seven people who would otherwise require hospital treatment. Set up in partnership with the Clinical Commissioning Group, Home Based Treatment Team and adult social care, the service aims to provide crisis intervention in a homely setting whilst helping residents develop skills to manage their mental health. At inspection, four people were using the service.

Thorough assessments, support plans and risk assessments were in place for all residents. Health and safety certificates and checks were complete and up to date, medicines were managed safely, and appropriate infection control measures were followed. Staff were recruited safely with sufficient numbers deployed to meet people's needs. The support provided was person-centred and inclusive, respecting residents' diversity and individual needs. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, using the least restrictive approaches possible in their best interests.
