About The Lodge

The Lodge is a residential care home in Sandwell supporting younger adults with learning disabilities and autism. Details of its most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

The Lodge, in Sandwell, is a residential service supporting younger adults with learning disabilities and autism. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding staff kind and knowledgeable, with care plans tailored to individual needs and communication approaches adapted to help people express their wishes.

However, inspectors found some people lacked equal access to meaningful activities, particularly those with complex communication needs, and identified shortfalls in infection control, medicines management and consent processes. Governance systems had not caught these issues, though leaders were open to feedback and responsive in addressing concerns raised by relatives.
