About The Lodge - Dementia Care with Nursing

The Lodge is a nursing care home in Lancashire, providing dementia care for older people, including those with mental health needs. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

The Lodge is a large care home providing nursing and dementia care for older people, including those living with dementia or mental health needs. Inspectors found the service overall Good, with well-maintained facilities, enough skilled staff, and medicines managed well. People and relatives described staff as kind, knowledgeable and well trained, and praised the home's cleanliness and security.

However, governance remained a concern. The CQC found that risk assessments and care records were not always kept up to date, and managers did not always learn lessons from incidents. The provider continued to be in breach of regulations relating to good governance, though improvements meant it was no longer in breach regarding safe care and treatment.
