The Hollies

The Hollies provides personal care to 28 residents aged 65 and over, including people living with dementia. Staffing levels were found to be inadequate, and while activities are currently limited, the service is recruiting an activity coordinator. The home has experienced a high number of unwitnessed falls over the previous year, and inspectors were not assured that sufficient systems were in place to prevent these incidents. Safety improvements have been made with the installation of stair gates and handrails.

The service lacks effective governance systems, with some policies out of date or missing review dates. Inspectors found that risks were not always managed in the least restrictive way and recommended the provider work within Mental Capacity Act principles to consider alternatives to restrictive practices.
