The Elms

The Elms provides personal and nursing care to up to 29 people, including those living with dementia. The service is located in an adapted building across three floors with access to an elevated garden space from the first-floor communal room. At inspection, 28 people were using the service.

Inspectors found that processes for identifying and managing risks had not been sufficiently maintained to ensure risks were always effectively assessed, managed, and mitigated. The provider's quality monitoring system was not always effective in identifying where improvements to the service's processes and systems were required, particularly regarding the assessment and management of risk.
