Tennyson Wharf

Tennyson Wharf provides residential care to 23 people aged 65 and over across five separate wings, with one wing specializing in dementia care. The service can accommodate up to 60 residents. At the time of inspection, nursing care was not being provided following a management application to cancel nursing registration. The home experienced significant manager turnover, which staff said affected team consistency and morale. Most staff did not feel supported by the registered manager and reported not being listened to or valued. Relatives expressed concerns about insufficient communication from management, particularly during a recent COVID-19 outbreak, causing them anxiety. The provider took immediate steps to address these concerns.

Staffing levels were calculated using a staffing calculator based on residents' needs, recently reviewed by the provider. However, both staff and relatives consistently reported concerns that low staffing levels were negatively impacting the quality of care people received.
