Swarthdale Nursing Home

Swarthdale Nursing Home provides care and nursing support for up to 43 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 36 people were living there. Having previously been in Special Measures, the home has improved and is no longer rated inadequate, though the CQC now rates it as requires improvement overall.

Inspectors found two new breaches concerning recruitment checks and safe management of medicines. However, staffing had increased, a new manager was in place, and oversight had strengthened. People and families spoke positively about kind, respectful staff, good food, activities, and improved communication from management.
