About Sunnyside

Sunnyside is a residential care home in Tameside, providing accommodation and personal care for older people without nursing support. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Sunnyside Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for older people, without nursing support. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall. Staff understood how to keep people safe and were generally kind and respectful, though some told inspectors they needed more training, particularly around dementia care and behaviours that challenge.

Inspectors found people were not always given meaningful engagement or enough choice in daily life, and some felt staffing levels were insufficient. Management oversight had not picked up these issues or some environmental concerns, though action was taken on fire safety hazards raised during the assessment. Feedback from people and staff was not always regularly sought.
