Summerfield Court

Summerfield Court, in Leeds, is a residential service supporting the rehabilitation of people with brain injuries. The CQC assessed the service after concerns about people's safety and rated it Requires Improvement overall, with leadership and governance rated Inadequate. Inspectors found breaches relating to safeguarding, consent, person-centred care and management, including poor oversight of finances, restrictive practices not properly authorised, and care plans that were not kept up to date.

People generally felt safe and described staff as kind, but experiences of care, food and activities were inconsistent, and rehabilitation planning lacked structure. Frequent management changes had disrupted care, and previously identified problems had not been resolved, leaving known risks unaddressed.
