About Stuart House

Stuart House is a residential care home in East Riding of Yorkshire, providing care for older people, most of whom are living with advanced dementia. Further details on the findings of its most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Stuart House provides care for up to 20 older people, most living with advanced dementia. The CQC found the home performing well overall, with attentive, person-centred staff who knew residents closely. Activities were flexible and tailored, meals suited individual needs, and relatives spoke highly of the care provided, describing noticeable improvements in wellbeing since moving in.

Inspectors previously found breaches around safety and governance, and these had been addressed. However, some concerns remained around recording of "as and when" medicines and risk documentation, and audits had not caught these issues. Overall, the CQC rated Stuart House Good, though well-led required improvement.
