Holyrood House is a residential care home providing personal care to 25 people aged 65 and over, with capacity for up to 29 residents. The service operates from one adapted building with bedrooms and communal facilities across two floors.

However, inspectors found significant safety concerns. People were exposed to risks because the provider had not properly identified, assessed or mitigated hazards related to residents' health, care needs, and the environment. When accidents occurred, lessons were not learned. Medicines management presented particular risks, with time-specific medicines not always given as prescribed and stock checks not consistently completed. The provider's quality monitoring systems were ineffective at identifying areas for improvement or driving quality improvements at the service.
