About Stratford Road

Stratford Road is a residential care home in Newham, supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability, with self-contained flats for each person. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Stratford Road, in Newham, is a residential care home supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability, each with their own self-contained flat. The CQC has rated it requires improvement, down from good, after finding a breach of regulations relating to good governance. Inspectors found weak oversight of fire safety and medicines, unnecessary restrictions on people's lives, and no registered manager in post since May 2025.

Staff were not always seen involving people in decisions about their own care, showing a lack of dignity and respect. Families told inspectors they felt able to raise concerns and valued their relationships with staff, though some wanted to see more activities offered, such as swimming people had previously enjoyed.
