Stansfield Hall Care Home

Stansfield Hall Care Home, in Rochdale, is a residential care home for up to 22 older adults, many living with dementia. This was a follow-up assessment after a previous warning notice, and the CQC found governance breaches remained unresolved. Recruitment files, care files and medication records still lacked important detail, and audits were not being used to monitor the service, though a newly appointed manager had begun making improvements to the environment and staff training.

Inspectors found people were well cared for by staff who knew them, with good food choices and support to stay independent. Relatives felt welcomed and were positive about planned changes, including a new care planning system and more dementia-focused activities. Overall the home requires improvement, with stronger oversight still needed.
