St Catherine's Care Home

St Catherine's Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 47 older people, the majority living with dementia. At inspection, 44 people were using the service in the purpose-built, single-floor building. Residents felt safe, well looked after and loved, describing the home as a place they could call 'home' where they felt comfortable. Staff responded to people's individualities with a passionate and creative approach, supporting them to play a full role in the running of the service and enabling their independence. People's religious beliefs were respected and celebrated.

The atmosphere throughout the home was relaxed, affectionate and highly respectful. All staff demonstrated understanding of person-centred care, meeting individual needs, wants and wishes. Staff were well trained, skilled and knowledgeable, receiving appropriate support and encouragement to ensure they found time for one-to-one conversations with residents.
