About Sowerby House

Sowerby House is a residential care home in North Yorkshire, providing accommodation and personal care for older people. Further detail on how the home is run can be found in the CQC findings below.

Sowerby House is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for older people. Following an earlier assessment that found breaches around governance, risk, infection control, medicines and consent, the CQC found the provider had made the necessary improvements and was no longer in breach of any legal requirements.

Inspectors found the home clean and well maintained, with more comprehensive, person-centred care plans and good partnership working with health professionals. Staff were well trained, supported and respected people's choices. Some minor gaps remained in medicine and care monitoring records, but people described staff as kind, respectful and the home as safe.
