Northfield House

Northfield House is a residential care home providing accommodation and support for up to eight younger adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. The detached property features bedrooms across two floors with en-suite facilities, shared communal spaces and a shared bathroom. The registered manager has made significant improvements since the last inspection, including better environmental maintenance and improved cleaning standards.

However, some concerns remain. COVID-19 risk management was inconsistent, with staff not always wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, though the manager responded quickly by providing training. Following an incident that caused harm, relevant guidance and risk assessments were not reviewed, and this gap was not identified by the provider's monitoring systems. Further work is needed to ensure new systems and changes introduced at the service are fully effective.
