About Sotwell Hill House

Sotwell Hill House is a residential care home in Oxfordshire, providing accommodation and personal care for older people. The findings below set out what the CQC most recently reported on the service.

Sotwell Hill House is a residential care home in Oxfordshire providing accommodation and personal care to up to 36 older people, with 17 people living there at the time of the assessment. The CQC found the home overall Good, and previous concerns about safe care and treatment had been resolved. Staff were warm and attentive, people felt safe and well supported, and care was personalised, flexible and encouraged independence.

However, inspectors found the provider remained in breach of good governance, with gaps in recruitment records, training oversight, safeguarding processes and care planning not consistently addressed. Audit systems had not reliably ensured actions were completed or improvements sustained. The provider has been asked for an action plan to address these concerns.
