About Snydale Care Home

Snydale Care Home in Wakefield is a residential care home for up to 50 older people, younger adults and people living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement, following an inspection prompted by concerns raised by people and staff. Inspectors found risks were not always managed safely, staffing levels were insufficient, and leadership lacked the oversight and skills needed to ensure safe, person-centred care.

The provider had not always identified safeguarding concerns or acted promptly on environmental risks, and quality assurance systems were inconsistent. Feedback from families was mixed, with some praising caring staff while others raised concerns about staffing and food quality. The provider was found in breach of regulations relating to safe care, staffing and governance, though some immediate improvements were made after inspectors raised concerns.
