SignHealth Constance Way

SignHealth Constance Way provides residential care and support for six deaf people with mental health needs. People and relatives gave positive feedback about the care provided and management of the service. Staff form a consistent team with appropriate skills and training, and medicines are safely managed. People are supported to be as independent as possible, with risks to their care identified and well managed. Staff demonstrate good knowledge of people's needs.

The service has systems in place to protect people from abuse and manage risks related to their care needs, with safe recruitment practices and infection control measures. People are supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible. However, inspectors identified some instances where support provided was not always recorded, and found mixed feedback regarding staffing levels. Additionally, policies and systems within the service were not always being followed consistently.
