Could the NHS fund Short Breaks - 7 Edlington Walk's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Short Breaks at Edlington Walk is a residential care home providing respite care for up to five people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Three people were using the service at the time of inspection. The home maintained strong hygiene practices throughout, with effective systems in place. Staff had access to personal protective equipment and received training in its correct use. The provider assessed how PPE might cause anxiety for residents and tailored equipment types to individual needs, such as ensuring clear face coverings for those who rely on lip reading. The home manager sought support from external agencies, including the local health protection team, when needed.
