Shangri-La Residential Home

Shangri-La Residential Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 25 older people, some living with dementia, across two floors with lift access. Following an inspection prompted by safety concerns, the CQC found four breaches of regulation, covering medicines management, care planning, consent under the Mental Capacity Act, and information sharing with the local authority. The rating has fallen from good to requires improvement.

Inspectors found quality assurance systems were not effective enough to identify these shortfalls. However, people and relatives spoke positively about the care, describing staff as helpful and supportive, with good access to healthcare professionals and family visits. The provider has been asked to submit an action plan.
