Newgate Lane

Newgate Lane provides accommodation for up to four people who require nursing or personal care, supporting older people and younger adults, including those with dementia, sensory or physical impairments, learning disabilities or autism. The CQC rated the home as requiring improvement overall, though people and relatives spoke positively about the care given and felt safe raising concerns.

Inspectors found staff were kind and skilled, and people took part in community activities, but incident investigations were inconsistent and slow, and there were gaps in records around risk, consent and the Mental Capacity Act. The CQC identified breaches relating to consent and governance, with some previous concerns about management oversight still not fully resolved.
