About Shaftsbury House

Shaftsbury House is a residential care home in Barnsley, providing accommodation and personal care for people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Shaftsbury House provides accommodation and personal care for up to eleven people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. During the inspection, the home had implemented thoughtful visiting arrangements to keep residents and visitors safe. A gazebo had been set up in the back garden to allow relatives and friends to visit in a sheltered outdoor space, accessed through a side gate to minimise contact with the main building.

Visits were pre-arranged, and visitors were informed in advance about guidelines including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining social distancing.
