SENSE – Newton Court provides residential care for 11 younger people with sensory impairment, autistic spectrum disorder and learning difficulties. The home, located in a residential area of Peterborough, comprises converted terraced houses. At the time of inspection, nine people were living at the service.

During the pandemic, the home demonstrated good practice in maintaining residents' connections with family and friends. Staff set up a social media group chat, facilitated video calling, arranged socially distanced garden visits, and supported telephone calls and emails. Individual risk assessments were created and followed to enable residents to visit relatives outside the home while maintaining appropriate social distancing measures.
