About Selborne Mews

Selborne Mews is a residential care home in Sandwell, providing personal care to older people and younger adults. The findings below set out what CQC inspectors observed during their most recent visit.

Selborne Mews provides personal care to older people and younger adults, some of whom may be living with a learning disability and/or a mental health condition. The CQC rated the home as Requires Improvement overall, finding that governance systems had not consistently ensured staff received required safety training, and that risks and environmental issues were not always identified or addressed promptly despite audits being in place.

On a more positive note, inspectors found staff were caring, safely recruited, and effective at safeguarding people from abuse. People said staff treated them with kindness and respect, supported their independence, and encouraged participation in meaningful activities. People also felt confident raising concerns and said feedback was generally listened to and acted upon.
