Scarlet House

Scarlet House provides nursing and personal care for up to 86 older people and those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 54 residents were living there. The registered manager demonstrated a clear vision for the service and spoke positively about necessary changes, with the provider organizing additional support while the new management team settled in and worked on their service improvement plan.

Inspectors found that improvements were needed in some areas to ensure residents' risk assessments and management plans remained accurate and current. Specifically, people's choking risks required regular review and updating as their needs changed, so that staff could maintain up-to-date care records to guide their work.
