Rusthall Lodge Care Home

Rusthall Lodge Care Home provides residential and nursing care for up to 69 older people, with respite care services also available. The service was home to 65 residents at inspection and operates across three floors in quiet rural grounds in Kent. People and their relatives spoke positively about their experience, describing staff as kind, caring and supportive. Staff interactions with residents were observed to be positive and respectful throughout the inspection, with good relationships evident between staff, people and families.

The home had effective safeguarding and whistleblowing policies in place, with staff demonstrating clear understanding of how to keep people safe. People's needs and preferences were properly assessed with risk management plans in place. Medicines were administered safely and infection control practices were followed. Recruitment procedures were robust, staffing levels were sufficient to meet residents' needs promptly, and staff possessed appropriate skills and experience. Staff received suitable induction, training and supervision to support their role.
