Ashurst Park Care Home

Ashurst Park Care Home provides nursing care and accommodation for up to 53 people, including those living with dementia, complex health needs and some people with a learning disability. Following an earlier inspection that found breaches, the CQC found significant improvements to risk management, medicines practice and staff training, with a positive, person-centred culture and consistently warm feedback from people and relatives.

However, inspectors found the service had not fully applied statutory guidance on supporting people with a learning disability, with gaps in individualised activities, communication and care plan detail such as life histories. This shortfall in leadership contributed to a Requires Improvement rating in that area, while other areas were rated Good.
