Roxton Nursing Home

Roxton Nursing Home accommodates up to 45 people, some living with dementia, with 42 residents at the time of inspection. The home implemented effective infection control measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, isolating positive cases on designated floors with dedicated staff to minimise spread. Staff communicated individually with residents about COVID-19 risks and isolation requirements.

The home prioritised residents' social and emotional wellbeing through various means. Families maintained contact via telephone and video calls, with a secure social media portal created to share pictures and updates. A dedicated pod was constructed to facilitate safe family visits. An activities coordinator led small group activities while maintaining social distancing, and ensured those with limited mobility could participate in individual activities in their rooms.
