Rose Villa Nursing Home

Rose Villa is a three-storey Victorian nursing home providing personal and nursing care for up to 36 people, with 25 residents at the time of inspection. The service supports older people, those with dementia, and people with physical disabilities, with single and shared bedrooms across all floors and communal spaces on the ground floor.

However, inspectors found significant concerns about how the home operates. Staff did not consistently support people to make choices or exercise control over their lives in the least restrictive way. Supervision and appraisals for staff were inconsistent, and training did not adequately prepare staff to meet residents' needs. The home lacked effective safeguarding systems and a consistent approach to safeguarding concerns, with staff not keeping up to date with safeguarding training. Risk information was not always comprehensive or properly communicated to staff, and residents and their families were not consistently involved in decisions about care and treatment.
