Ridgewell House

Ridgewell House provides personal and nursing care to up to 16 older people, some living with dementia. At inspection, 12 people were using the service. Inspectors found that people were not always protected from the risk of harm, and quality assurance processes were not robust, leaving the provider without complete oversight. While the service completed relevant recruitment checks, staff files needed minor improvements to meet regulatory requirements. Medicines management required improvements to update practice.

The newly appointed manager demonstrated commitment to driving improvement and responded positively to concerns raised during inspection, taking steps to rectify identified issues. Inspectors made recommendations around safe recruitment practices and management of medicines.
