Red Oak Care Home provides personal and nursing care to 13 residents aged 65 and over, with capacity for up to 17 people. Residents felt safe and reported that staff responded quickly to their needs. The home maintained safe medicines management and conducted appropriate background checks on staff.

Risk assessments were in place to minimise harm, and staff demonstrated knowledge of residents' support requirements. The environment was clean and homely, with staff described as caring, competent and knowledgeable.

However, inspectors identified concerns about equipment suitability for some residents' needs and found that audits did not consistently drive improvements. Staff provided conflicting information about staffing arrangements, prompting a recommendation from inspectors. The home supported residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives, using the least restrictive practices in their best interests.
