Priory Gardens

Priory Gardens provides personal and nursing care for up to 72 people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 52 people were residing at the home. The service maintained high standards of cleanliness and ventilation, with cleaning schedules increased to regularly disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches throughout the day. Staff had received specific training in managing COVID-19 risks and the safe use of personal protective equipment, and the home participated in the government testing scheme with staff putting systems in place to support people through the testing process.

The home supported people living with dementia who liked to wander by providing appropriate supervision and regularly wiping down handrails and other surfaces they touched. People were enabled to maintain contact with family and friends through regular video calls, helping to reduce isolation during this period.
