Primrose House Nursing Home

Primrose House is a single storey, purpose-built facility providing care and accommodation for up to 42 people with nursing care needs who are living with dementia. At the time of inspection, the service supported 40 people.

The home demonstrated several strengths in its infection control procedures. Residents and staff had access to regular testing and vaccination programmes. Visiting procedures were in place in line with government guidance, with a new online booking system being trialled. Staff received training on correct PPE use and had access to appropriate equipment. The home maintained frequent cleaning schedules with increased attention to frequently touched surfaces, and staff changed from outdoor clothes at the start of each shift to minimise transmission risk. Admission processes ensured people were admitted safely and supported to self-isolate where necessary, taking account of their wellbeing.
