About Priestley

Priestley is a residential care home in Kirklees, providing care for older adults, including people living with dementia. Further details on the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

The home accommodates up to forty people aged 65 and over requiring residential care, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 38 people were resident. Safe recruitment processes were in place, though one file lacked documentation explaining a reference change.

Staffing levels were sufficient with suitably qualified staff receiving ongoing training and support. People felt safe and were supported by staff trained to identify and respond appropriately to abuse. Risks were regularly assessed, monitored and reviewed.

The home maintained a focus on healthy, balanced diets with adequate fluid intake. However, some people reported meals were not always served hot, an issue identified in the satisfaction survey that the registered manager had already begun addressing.
