About Newlands Hall

Newlands Hall is a residential care home in Kirklees, providing personal care for people who need support, including some living with dementia. The findings below set out what CQC inspectors found on their most recent visit.

Newlands Hall is a residential care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 19 people, including some living with dementia. The CQC found two breaches of regulation relating to safe care and treatment and governance, with medicines management, infection prevention control and the home's environment all needing improvement. The service has moved out of special measures, having previously been rated inadequate, though inspectors say further progress is still required.

People and families told inspectors they felt safe and well cared for, praising staff knowledge and kindness. One relative described staff as "so caring, like a loving family. " While caring, effective and responsive care were rated good, safety and leadership were rated as requiring improvement.
