Plessington Court

This purpose-built care home accommodates up to 20 people in the countryside on the outskirts of Puddington. At the time of inspection, 19 residents were living at the home. Residents spoke positively about their experience, with comments including: "It's been brilliant. I cannot fault the care and support I've had from all the staff throughout the pandemic" and "The home is lovely and clean. It's all spotless." Family members were equally complimentary, saying "We've been really impressed from day one" and praising the level of communication, including regular newsletters and updates.

The home demonstrated good practice in managing visits during the pandemic. A visiting pod was established that allowed relatives to visit regularly in a well-managed, pre-booked system. One relative commented: "Once the visiting pod was created I was able to visit regularly. It is fabulous." The home also introduced garden visits with screens in place. All visitors completed health screening forms, had their temperature checked, and were provided with face masks. Full personal protective equipment, handwashing facilities and hand sanitiser were available throughout.
