OSJCT Millbrook Lodge

Millbrook Lodge is a care home accommodating up to 80 people across four separate units within one building, each with adapted facilities. The home provides nursing or personal care alongside accommodation. Inspectors found improvements in medicines management and records related to drink thickeners since the previous inspection. However, some residents continued using bed rails that did not meet required safety heights, though records did not fully document that people had been informed of potential safety impacts. Staff also needed better awareness of risks when supporting residents with eating and drinking.

The home has strengthened its audit processes to identify shortfalls and drive improvements in leadership and governance. Despite progress, inspectors identified that staff required enhanced understanding of safety considerations when assisting residents with meals and managing their nutritional support.
