OSJCT Brookside

Brookside provides accommodation and care for up to 50 people in Melksham, Wiltshire, operated by The Orders of St. John Care Trust. Staff assess individual risks and develop care plans for residents, particularly those who express anxiety and frustration through behaviours that staff find challenging to manage. However, inspectors found inconsistencies in the quality of care planning. For some residents experiencing increased anxiety, care plans did not reflect these changes, and staff guidance on how to redirect or distract individuals during difficult moments lacked sufficient detail. Additionally, personal emergency evacuation plans required more comprehensive information to ensure staff could properly support residents during evacuation procedures.
