Ormsby Lodge

Ormsby Lodge provides accommodation and nursing or personal care for up to 10 people, including older people and younger adults with learning disabilities, autism or physical disabilities. Eight people were living there when inspectors visited, following concerns about safeguarding, capacity assessment and care planning. The CQC found breaches of five legal regulations covering safe care, safeguarding, staffing, recruitment checks and governance, and rated safety as inadequate.

Inspectors did find staff and managers kind, respectful and knowledgeable about people's needs, and relatives felt loved ones were safe and well treated. There was no registered manager in post, though an acting manager and Nominated Individual were overseeing improvements, including bringing in outside consultants. The provider must now show it can address these shortfalls.
