Orchard House Residential Care Home

Orchard House is a two-storey residential care home accommodating 35 people, currently providing personal care for 28 older people, some living with dementia. The home has implemented strong infection prevention and control measures, including temperature checks, health questionnaires and rapid COVID-19 tests for visitors. Staff follow training on correct use of personal protective equipment and maintain a planned programme of cleaning and disinfecting, with particular attention to frequently touched items and personal equipment like hoisting slings. The home facilitates safe family contact through multiple methods including video calls, letters and phone calls where physical visits are not appropriate, with visits pre-booked and time-limited based on individual circumstances. When necessary, people are appropriately isolated until it is safe for them to access communal areas.
